  • Welcome

With eastern European blood on my father’s side and English on my mother’s, I blame my ancestors for the lethal combination in my genes that influence my stories. Drama and conflict might be found between the pages, but in the end, I give readers a happy ending.

My passion, besides writing, is researching my ancestry. I am obsessed with my ancestors who came from Manchester, England. You will find the names of my distant relatives sprinkled throughout my books and in dedications to keep their memory alive. To read excerpts and order from various retailers, click on the covers or CLICK HERE to view them all on one page. Dark Persuasion (Historical Romance)

Award-Winning Finalist in the Fiction: Romance category of The 2012 USA Best Book Awards, sponsored by USA Book News

Described by Night Owl Romance as, "Powerful, haunting, poignant and angst-filled. This is a fantastic read that will stay with you."

Toil Under the Sun (Historical Fiction)

UPDATE:  The series is on hold.  Read my blog post here. Join me at my new blog, The Leighton Family Saga, which is my new and ambitious project to sweep my readers into another world from 1860 Victorian times in Manchester, UK to the 1930’s. The saga is based loosely on my own family heritage with all sorts of drama, soap opera antics, love stories, family conflict, affairs, and everything else that makes a family saga so much fun to read. It’s a rags to riches to rags story.

  • Gothic Romance

    Phantom of Valletta

A continuation of Gaston Leroux's Phantom of the Opera!

"Hopkins’ depiction of our small island is masked in Gothic imagery. Valletta is painted as seeping with darkness, threatening to cover all semblance of truth so reality is hidden from view. "  The Malta Times - "Goodbye Paris, Hello Valletta" August 22, 2010.

A heartfelt thank you to the isle of Malta, who even before the release of this book, found an interest in The Phantom of Valletta.  The Sunday Times contacted the author requesting a copy of the publication and subsequently published a book review and interview on August 22, 2010.  To read the article, CLICK HERE.

  • Christmas Novelettes

Christmas should be a time of peace on earth and goodwill toward men, but it isn’t for Elizabeth Dutton. When Francis Oldman breaks their engagement, giving her no reason as to why, she sues him for breach of promise of marriage. The jury finds in her favor, and she is awarded £1,000 for damages suffered – the price of her broken heart.

Three months later, while still pining over a lost love, the annual invitation to the Darley’s Christmas Eve party arrives. Elizabeth decides that a new dress and a bit of Christmas spirit might cheer her up. What she hoped would be a pleasant evening, turns into one disaster after another, especially when Francis Oldman walks through the door.

Nevertheless, Christmas wouldn’t be complete without gifts. Before morning arrives, Elizabeth receives the gift of clarity, and Francis discovers that sacrifice can bring miracles. (Released 2015 – Short Read 12,000 Words)

A year and a half ago while on her deathbed, Elizabeth Baker begged her family to do one thing–reconcile with her father. Her daughters, Eliza and Emma, are determined to carry out her wishes regardless of the consequences.

Charles Baker, their father, has doubts that the old man is worth the trouble. He forbade his marriage to Elizabeth, calling him a worthless bricklayer. She defied him, and as a result, her father banished her from the family. Now a wealthy businessman and politician, Charles proved him wrong.

For the sake of his dead wife, he allows his daughters to travel to York to meet their grandfather. When they arrive, their preconceived idea of Sir Davies’ malicious character is proven wrong after they discover a broken and frail man paying for the mistakes of his past. (Released 2016 – Short Read 13,000 Words)
